Value of a 1958 Gibson Les Paul?
I bought a Gibson off of a friend a few days ago for 2 grand. The guitar I bought is a Gibson Les Paul in a sunburst finish. After contacting Gibson USA to help date it, it turns out to be a Les Paul from early 1958 or late 1957 Just wondering what the value of it would be now. I have a slight feeling my friend might have got ripped off.
You need to get that guitar appraised, and you need an expert. You also need to protect it with your life. The value of these guitars is outrageous to say the least. Based on condition and the specific model, you could easily be talking 6 figures. Need a new house?

At the bottom of the page is an email address for the collector. You should take good quality photos like those seen on the site of the guitar from many angles. Then you can send the photos as proof of condition.
DO NOT repair or change ANYTHING on this guitar before you have it checked out. If it were me, I’d try really hard to not go anywhere near it. Make sure it is stored in a case, preferably in a climate -controlled room.
