Guitar sounds bad?
I have an acoustic electric guitar with a semi slim body, not real thin but not fat like a flat top guitar. I’m considering having the electronics taken out of it and the hole patched where the EQ is because the input jack is broken for the second time, so I never plug it in. It’s a 15 year old epiphone and I want it to have more of an old country flat top sound, will taking the electonics out help that?
Its the shallow body giving you the sound you dont like. That guitar is made to have power equipment to fill out the sound. Sometimes its one or the other. I put a semi-permanent pick-up in my Washburn dreadnot. It sounds good both plugged and unplugged. Also, sometimes trying different strings will help to give you the sound you like.
