What should I look for in a microphone if I want to use it for basement band jamming?
In case this changes anything, I generally sing both acoustically and vocally. Or classically and “rocking”ly. And we usually play our instruments pretty loudly. I don’t want the microphone to pick up the drums and guitar. I’m looking at a Heil – The Fin and I like the look of it (and the specs/details seem pretty good) but I honestly know nothing about sound and the quality of sound. I only recently noticed a difference between mp3 and CD quality! So yeah. Specific models are helpful, but I would really appreciate what specs/details I should be looking for. You know, materials, shape, mechanism, etc. Thanks
The Heil mics are great – go for it. Remember that you will need a PA system to connect the mic to also:

Any dynamic vocal mic will work pretty good. Anything over $100US will be professional level quality. You do not need to look at the specs too much – almost all pro mics sound great.
