Putting Strings On A Guitar Perfectly?
I have played guitar ever since 2004, roughly up to 6 years. I am a Fender Stratocaster player. Now, I’m in the period of finding my own sound. But I’ve only question myself this: is there anyway of putting strings on perfectly? Or is hard to determine however you put them on? Before putting new strings on, my old strings sounded close to a Sitar. I have checked the neck and it seemed fine. I watched videos upon videos of different demonstrations. I use Ernie Ball by the way, extra slinky, the pink package kind. When I put the B and E string on this time, it didn’t carry or wrapped much string on the tuning heads and it makes a “plink” or “pling” sound when playing close to or on the 12th fret. So what I’m asking is if there’s anyway of making my strings sound cleaner or perfect to tone? Or it could be just part of the guitar mechanism? If you have any professional experience of knowing an electric guitar, please let me know.

The string makes a straight line between the bridge and the nut saddle. So long as it’s in the proper groove at both ends, it’s on right, there’s no better way to do it. 8^)
When a string vibrates it moves in and out, the biggest excursion is in the middle of the string. It sounds like your strings are hitting the 12th fret, causing that buzzing sound. Your action might be too low, with the strings too close to the frets. But it can be adjusted.
Is your bridge the kind that can be raised and lowered? Try raising it just a little. Also sight from the head down the neck and see if it looks warped. You can tighten the rods in the neck to correct this.
Or you could take your guitar to any good shop and they will know exactly what to do. They do this stuff all the time, It only takes them a few minutes so it wouldn’t be very expensive.
