Which guitar would be best for hard rock, metal, alternative and classic rock. basically Rock. and YES, i have no clue on guitars, i just started learning.
depends mostly on your hands, really. The fender has a thinner, more rounded neck, with good action.
The Gibson/epiphone neck is flatter and wider.
action is pretty good too.Les paul has humbucker pickups (dual coil)
Fenders have single coil pick ups. Both sound good, they just sound different.(you can get them with different set-ups, tho)I prefer Fender strats, myself. They sound more like how I play.
I have played Les Pauls, too, and they are fine, I just prefer a strat.It will be your prefernce, too. Play both of them and see which is more comfortable hanging around your neck, and to play.
Lots of players have both.
It depends on you style of playing, too. I think you can get more string expression from a strat, like bending, and putting more “english” and subtle little expressions with your fingering hand. A Les Paul gives good chunky chording, and good voicings for standard straight forward fingering. nice crisp notes. I think a strat gives better bluesey sounds, and is easy to play those kind of scales. really its all just your preference, tho.
They are both pretty good all around guitars.If you want mostly metal, I would try something else, Like A Jackson, esp, dean…
