i need help with my electric guitar tailpiece!?
I have a cheap electric guitar and the tailpiece is secured by slotted pins that are jammed into the wood. They are slotted on the sides, and are not threaded. Because of the string tension, one of them is starting to pop up about 1/4 inch, and I know it’s not supposed to do that. What help can i get to stop the plug from popping up>
Would have helped a lot if you’d told me the exact type of guitar you got dude.
If it’s what I think it is you should slack the string off some and push the pin back down into place keep your finger on the pin pretty firmly as you go to put tension back on the string and it should stay put. Also make sure you’re not tuning the thing too damn high. For that matter you might want to consider tuning your ax down a semi-tone or two.
