Classical guitar vs electric, which is really the hardest of the two?
They’re both different styles of playing, but everyone say that Classical is the hardest. I’ve messed around a tiny bit with both playing styles and while I’m no guitarist, I found the Classical style to be muche easier for me to play than the other mainstream type of playing.
the only reason they say classical is the hardest is because of the following:
most electric guitarists play power chords and barre chords….easy…it just sounds cool and makes you sound like you know what you are doing.
classical, you actually learn how to read music and you play individual notes (more often than chords) – you finger pick the strings….
also the neck is wider to accommodate intricate note work…which also makes it harder for someone who plays electric as they are used to a smaller neck.
