Want to buy electric bass, which one to get?
I’m interested in getting a bass because I dig the sound and so many people choose guitar. I guess I just like to differ.
I have 500 bucks tops to spend on bass, amp, travel case, strings, books and the like. I would really like to keep the total cost at or under 300 though. The problem is, I don’t know what bass I actually want. I want to play slow, brooding and aggressive bass that “growls” because I find that sound extremely awesome. I’m not into funk, jazzy or mid-range bass that much. The deeper the better.

The bass used in that song is a Thunderbird, which is around my price range, but I want to know if there’s any other basses that have a really deep rumble to them, and what basses are good for beginners. I’d like to start with a 4-string although 5 is tempting for the added lower string.
