Im going to start playing (badly) the guitar when i can decide which of the Vendetta versions to buy.
First version has a Metallic finish, basswood body and maple neck. 2 High-Output Humbucking Pickups for $159.99
The second version has a Natural or black clear finish and has a Paulownia wood body with the same maple neck/ rosewood fretboard. $139.99Both seem to have the same 24 fret / 25-1/2 scale length. Both have a simple 3 way switch and the same Tremolo set up. Has anyone had experience with one of/ both versions? would you recommend it for a beginner?
Those guitars sounds good. From what I understand, Dean makes good electrics and either would be fine.
If I recall correctly, Paulownia is a substitute for either Alder or Mahogany.
I’d go with the 2nd version just because the finish options sound more attractive (always good to see the wood!) and the wood might be better (better is subjective in terms of wood, and woods probably don’t matter to you, as a beginner). And hey – it’s $20 more in your pocket!
I would actually opt for one (similar line) without a tremolo. Will save you a lot of time and trouble when it comes to tuning and staying in tune. Most artists don’t even use the tremelo, and those that do only use it sparingly, so I don’t think it’s a necessity.
