Trying to Play Pantera and Sepultura. Help Please?
Okay. Im getting a Dean Razorback DB and I want to switch out the Dimarzios.
I want the rhythm tone (During the Arise/Chaos AD period) of Sepultura(Max Cavalera)
And the Lead tone of Pantera (Dimebag Darrel)Would It be good to put a Dimebucker in the bridge position? What should I put in the neck for an Arise style Sepultura style?
you never use the neck pickup for rhythm. shame on you. always use the bridge pickup when playing rhythm, at least for metal. use the neck pickup for lead. dont get a dimebucker it is too trebley for a good thick sepultura tone. you should get a JB or distortion. for lead tone definitely go with the duncan 59 or jazz. they are both very good. obviously you should try these pickups out first. and find one you like the best. finally, it totally depends on what kind of rig you are playing through. if you have a crappy rig, any pickup you use will sound crappy. and vice versa.
