Putting a tampon in hurts lower back?
I have only actually forced myself to fully put in a tampon once, and it hurt a lot. Now days when I try, I always chicken out after getting to the point where your supposed to push the piece of cloth or the actual tampon thing, in. The reason why is that when i put in a tampon it feels so weird… it starts to hurt my very lower back area, it’s hard to explain. It doesn’t hurt THAT much when you just push the applicator in, but it does feel weird and I can feel a bit of pain on my back. When I did successfully one put in a tampon I remember when I pushed it in, it hurt my back a lot. that’s why I always chicken out, is this normal? What should I do? Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

My first tries with tampons were quite painful as well, it just takes practice as you learn more about your body.
I noticed I would get pain when i forced the tampon in. So applying too much force because it was not going in. Inserting a tampon must not be like this.
You should maybe change the position of how you are when you insert the tampon. The easiest way would be to stand up and place one of your legs on the toilet seat. Do not slouch, just relax standing and insert it in slowly. It is easier to do when you are not completely dry. As this causes friction and makes it extremely difficult to insert. So it is best to try in the middle of your period, not at the end when it is light. Also go for the lightest absorbency. Once you get use to it then consider changing absorbency if you need to.
Once you get use to inserting the tampon this way then you will be able to do it sitting on the toilet seat.
It is all about relaxing and patience.
