custom catback exhaust?
how much money do you think this will cost to get installed at a muffler shop? i bought 2 spintech mufflers for my 99 tahoe (2door) and i want them to hook them up with an H pipe with pipes straight out the back of the truck. chrome tips of course. is this gnna be a pain in the ass for the shop to put in? do you think ittl cost 450$+? thanks
If that’s a pain for the shop to put in, you should go to a different shop! Seriously, a little welding, some fitment, and they should be able to bang a job like that out without an issue. Personally, I have my local performance shop do my custom exhaust work, because I know the guy who welds frames there, and he puts the same love into his exhaust pipe work.
The H pipe may be some extra work, but it’ll fit. The only thing I could think of that may be any real sort of problem for them is ensuring the mufflers fit well under your truck – I don’t know how much room you have under the tahoe, but most truck platforms have a boat load of room to stow the mufflers.
As for the price, that’s where it can get dodgy. Of course it’s all about hours on the job. If it takes them the most part of the day, you could be closing in on your 450 limit. Talk to them ahead of time, and get an agreement on the price they’ll charge.
