What size is the bridge on a Mexican Stratocaster?
I purchased the guitar around 4 years ago. i have just ordered a new bridge (2 1/8″ to 2 3/16″ screw spacing) for a strat. will this fit? its a wilkinson

CheersHello! The Mexican Standard Stratocasters typically use 2-1/16-inch string spacing and 2-1/16-inch screw center mounting positions (outermost holes). There are some models (e.g., Deluxe, Classic 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, etc.) that use 2-7/32-inch for mounting, but they are the exception. Although a slightly wider string spacing is generally not a problem (1/16-inch in this case), the mounting position spacing could definitely be an issue. You probably don’t want to have to plug and re-drill six mounting holes because of the 1/8-inch difference in mounting centers, so it may be necessary for you to return the bridge and look elsewhere for an upgrade. Wilkinson does not seem to have the narrower bridge option available, but there is another (unfortunately, more expensive) option at Callaham Vintage Guitars (see http://www.callahamguitars.com/upgrades.htm ).
