Make an Epiphone Hummingbird sound more like a Gibson?
I want to buy my dad an Epiphone H-bird for his birthday that is coming up soon. He and I are new to guitars but I figure we can possibly get some father/son activity out of this. I bought myself an Ibanez RG1570 Prestige to learn.
Anyways, so I understand there’s the Gibson H-bird that goes for over $3500 and “blows the other out of the water” with its sound but is there a way to make the Epi. sound more like the Gibson?

Changing hardware can help a little, but it won’t completely change and hi-jack the tone of an instrument. I’ve replaced nuts with bone, brass, and graphite and didn’t find much difference at all. On a bass or electric guitar, the bridge is way bigger and can effect the sound some, but on acoustic guitars it’s less substantial. The best you could hope for is more sustain or maybe a little more sparkle on your highs with the mods that you mentioned.
Look to see what wood they’re made of, as that will have a more dramatic effect on the sound than the hardware does.
