Trim a bridge while the guitar is still strung?
It’s from a pawn shop. Yamaha F-310.I got new strings and the nut fell off then got lost so I just got through fashioning a new one from a bone blank. I still need to drop the action at the neck with a file a little but the bridge is way to high. Would filing the top of the bridge a string at a time with the string loosened and pulled aside kill the tone too much? Should I really buck up and pull it and trim from the bottom?
C’mon people! Folks build and modify instruments all the time! It’s not rocket science!Dude, Go to the luthier and get it done proper if it can.
In the other case, simply replace it.
