is there a way to play an electric guitar with a car amp?
I want to make a unit to run my guitar through a laptop and then to a car amp and speakers. The power supply would be a small marine battery and a solar panel. Not counting the solar panel I want it to be about the size of a backpack.
Just hook the headphone output from the laptop to the amp’s low level inputs. That type cord is available at any Radio Shack. A small, battery powered stomp box or three, could take the place of the laptop. So you could have distortion, chorus, and delay, hooked directly to the low level amp inputs. We used to use battery powered practise amps, like a pignose, and a few stomp boxes to practise in the outdoors. Heck, I took the guts from a fuzz and a delay, installed them in my guitar, and plugged a Mr. Microphone into my guitar jack. Then I just tuned my car stereo to the right frequency, and jammed loud while sitting on a picnic table in a park. Cold brew is optional…
