How do I know if I need a new battery or another AC Power Adapter. I have an IBM Thinkpad T23. ?
When I plug it up, it won’t turn on. Before this started, I would unplug the computer and it would immediately turn off. So, I had to keep it plugged in in order to use it. I know I need to upgrade. But, until I can, I would like to continue using this one.
You might want to call IBM’s tech support, especially if you still have a warranty on the computer.
But it sounds like at first the battery died (because you had to keep it plugged into the wall for power) and now maybe the AC adapter is broken.You can buy universal laptop AC adapters (which require some calibration for your specific computer), I know Radio Shack sells one that I’ve used, and it works, but there are others. But theres still no guarantee that the new ac adapter will solve your problem.
