Should I set up a Bass guitar that is 5 years old and never been set up before?
OK this is the deal: I purchased a Ibanez Bass Guitar GSR200 about 5 years ago and haven’t played ever since and never changed the strings and never set it up. Now I would like to start playing again but I’m worried cause the neck feels and looks “curved” and I was wondering if I should take it to the nearest guitar shop and have it set it up…or should i just get rid of it and buy a new one? I really would like to keep this bass and be able to play it again though. Thanks.
Like the other guy said, the sound would be stuffed. I’m guessing the tuning with be all screwed up. But anyways, you could just go to a guitar shop and see what they could do but I wouldn’t count on it. Most likely you’ll have to get a new bass.
