What bass guitar string sizes do I need?
Help me out, I’m new to the music world. I noticed while I was browsing around for some Elixir bass strings on guitarcenter.com, some of them come in different sizes. They have different sizes for the Elixir Elctric bass strings, which are Light, Medium, and Heavy.
How do I know which sizes I need for my bass guitar? I don’t wanna end up buying the wrong size and it doesn’t fit on my guitar, or some crap like that.
Also, if you can, provide me some additional info I should know. I wanna learn as much as I can about my bass guitar~
First of all all strings will fit on your bass light, medium, or heavy. It’s the tone that makes the difference like light stings will give you a lighted sound like for slap bass and pop music. Medium is most popular and is what I would recommend for any new bass player. I use heavy because of its fatter sound longer sustain. There are also dark regular and bright strings I use dark or regular.I use D’Addario bass stings the are the best selling then Elixir then DR’s bass strings. Elixir are the highest in Quality and last twice as long as the others, I have 3 basses and my fender P deluxe has .45 gage on them but I will be putting a heavier gage on them when I get some new D’Addario strings.
