What’s the make/model of that weird guitar 10,000 Maniacs guitarist Rob Buck used?
In clips from about 1987 the late guitarist for 10,000 Maniacs, Rob Buck, is playing a guitar I’d never seen before. It’s not a bass guitar but a guitar that looks like those real old Fender Precision basses from the early to mid 1950′s–back when the pick guard covered the upper horn and the bass had a sole single coil pickup. Anyway, this guitar, like I said, resembled one these old Precision Basses, in that it was shaped like a strat with a pickguard that covered the upper horn as well as the lower one. It was also light green in color–almost looking white, at times–and had a humbucker in the neck position and a single coil pickup (a chrome pickup, if I’m not mistaken) in the middle position. I’d appreciate having someone tell me the names of that guitar’s make and model, so to speak, if possible.
