Great bass, but i want to know if its important…?
i have a 22nd anniversary precision bass, and saying that its around nine years old, and the back neck plate says 22nd anniversary, does this make it a better bass than if i just walked to guitar center and bought a normal precision bass? if so or if not so, how? it is a VERY nice bass. i have played vintage fenders and ernie ball stingrays and the feel of this and the sound is much better, and its only a squire.
As a long time bass player, I have discovered that the guitar is minimal when it comes to sound. The speakers and the bass effects processor that you chose are 80% of your sound. As long as you have a two pickup bass, it really does not matter much except that it has good action and volume and tone controls for each pickup. I play a 5-string Ibanez SR505 and my bass sound comes from a BOSS GT-10B amplified by a QSC GX5 stereo power amplifier driving twin JBL JRX115 cabinets and two powered JBL subwoofers. You couldn’t ask for a better sounding bottom end. I also use my Roland Juno-G keyboard as a synthesizer effect with the bass and connect the GT-10B to the Juno-G via in/out midi cables to get that synth sound.
