Do you have to drill holes in your guitar to use Ernie Ball Super Locks?
I have a squier bullet strat and I bought Dunlop strap locks and it said I had to drill holes in my guitar so I don’t want them now. Here are the Ernie Balls, http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ernie-Ball-Super-Locks?sku=360809.
The Squier Bullet comes from the factory with standard (non-locking) strap “buttons”. Although there may be the odd exception, strap locks (from any manufacturer) typically do not require modification to your guitar beyond removing the existing buttons and screws. The reference to drilling holes was probably made in case you had chosen a different location for the locks, or were building a guitar from scratch. Either the Dunlops or the Ernie Ball locks should work just fine without having to drill into your guitar body. Personally, I like the Schaller locks for their simplicity, reliability and appearance value (see http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/-Guitar-Strap-Locks-and-Buttons-Pair-?sku=360389 ); no matter what you choose, visit the local hardware store and buy screws that allows for at least ¾-inch engagement into the guitar body.
