Question about broken guitar string?
i broke the high e string on my fender strat, and it broke at the bridge right at the ball end. there is still lots of string left up at the tuning peg so i dont want to throw it away
is there anyway to restring it without the ball end? and if not, is der some way of re-tieing it to the ball end?
if all else fails, i have a fender high e at 10 gauge, but the other strings are D’addario 9 gauge … is that doable?
You should not attempt to reuse that string since you could cause damage to your guitar and it will not sound as good. Your fender high e will work fine but you may consider buying all new strings since it’s a good idea to restring your guitar every so often anyways.
