explain how you would find out whether a potentiometer has a linear or an audio taper using ohmmeter?

well first you have to measure the full scale resistance. Then you have to position the potentiometer in the middle state and make the measurement on more time. If you have measured the value which is the half of the full scale – then the potentiometer is linear one. AFAIK the audio – means logarithmic scale.
