how to get my own stuff back from my job?
so were i work at we use a lot of tools. The day I came in i took one of my brand new tools with me to work (its a paintball field) and I was Using it and left it on the counter (dumb i know) and i left. half way home i remember i left it, but couldn’t go back.(everyone was gone and it was like 30 minute drive back) and i didnt show up to work for about 3 months(had foot surgery) so i show up and i see my tool and want to take it, but i dont want to be caught steeling my own stuff looking like im stealing from my work. my manager is fully convinced it is indeed their tool. So how can i get it back? (it was a nice Allen wrench set that cost a pretty penny)
Do you have a receipt or proof that you did in fact spend your own money on the tool? Or, do you have anyone at the job that knows that you brought the tool from home? I would see what I could come up with as far as those two things and maybe that would lend weight to your claim to the tool.
