Music Theory Help for Guitar?
I want to learn the scales for guitar but I don’t know where to start. I tried improvisation and had this site called j-guitar which showed me all the scales, but there were just so many, and I was just looking at them and playing the notes. I didn’t even think of learning any of them till now. So is there like a certain scale(s) that I should learn first, then move onto others, or should I just pick a random one???
If it helps, my music consists of mostly ACDC, GNR, Santana, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi.

The most commonly used guitar scale is the pentatonic scale. It is a 5 note scale that is used in many styles of music. Here is the C major/ A minor pentatonic scale:
-5—-8-
-5—-8-
-5–7—
-5–7—
-5–7—(index, ring)
-5—-8-(index, pinky)
Play each note individually starting on the low E string. Work your way across all 6 strings and back. Use the indicated fingerings. Practice using hammer ons and pulloffs as well as bends.
Try using this scale over the following progressions; (each will have a different feel)
Am F G Am [rock feel]
A7 D7 A7 E7 [blues/rock feel]
C F C G [country/pop feel]
This is the first scale that most guitarists learn. It is a moveable form. It is used extensively by bands like AC/DC etc. Practice it until you can play it up and down. There are plenty of good scale books out there but the pentatonic scale is the best one to master first.
I strongly suggest getting a good local instructor to help you with this and other concepts.
